Where to Buy Your 2015-2016 Louisiana Fishing License

Getting your Louisiana fishing license for 2014-15 online is one option, though there is a service fee. Unlike some states, you aren't required to provide your SSN—just your driver's license number. You can also call 1-888-765-2602 or get one in person at most sporting goods stores and marinas.

NOTE: the license year runs from July 1—June 30. Licenses for the coming year are available starting June 1.

Basic fishing licenses cost $9.50, and a saltwater license costs $13 on top of that. Check out the full list of licenses and fees. If you're over 60, your license only costs $5. A lifetime license for anyone over 14 is $300; younger than that, it's only $200. Figuring in fee increases, it'll pay for itself pretty quickly if you stay in Louisiana.
